Our Directors
"To do for other children what we want done for our own."
One of the most respected "Teams" in camping.
Ari Segal Executive Director
Ari has been the owner of Camp Lee Mar since 1993.
Assistant Director of The Guided Tour, Inc. since 1986.
BA and MSW at the University of Maryland and Temple University respectively.
Ari is fortunate to have worked with 2 pioneers in the field of special needs: Irv Segal, Founder and Director of the The Guided Tour, Inc "The foremost supervised vacation program for adults with developmental challenges, est. 1972"; Lee Morrone, Founder and Director of Camp Lee Mar "The premier camp for children with special needs, est 1953."
Ari became involved with working with the special needs community because of his lifelong exposure to his father’s pioneering work, and not because he had a family member with special needs. Ironically, this all changed in 1998 when Ari and his wife Abby welcomed Zachary into their family. Zachary, the oldest of Ari and Abby’s three children, is a camper at Lee Mar and has given Ari first-hand experience as to what other parents of special needs campers go through. Zachary has reinforced Ari’s mission of providing a growth-producing, memorable life experience for our children with special needs.
